   * She explained the meaning as follows: 
         * 百事 lit. means //hundred things// and thus, //everything//. 
         * 如 is //like//, I guess a bit like 是 it acts as a copula.
         * 意 is the same as in 意見, meaning //wish//.

➡️ Everything is as you wish. Of course, if you have a specific wish, it isn't; but if you don't, everything flows of its own accord as it should be.

===Background===
   * Not strictly from 禅, but rather Chinese Buddhism.
   * The {{ruby|如意|にょい}} is also a tool that allows you to scratch your back where ever you want, as you wish. In Chinese, it's read as //rúyì//. It then became a ceremonial short staff carried by Buddhist monks.

➡️ I think this makes a grate [[mei|御銘]] for a 茶杓.
