====濃茶 (no season)====
   * A [[https://nihonjinron.wordpress.com/2013/03/22/formal-gomei/|very classical list for 濃茶]] 🥱
   * A [[https://terebess.hu/zen/szoto/szotar/szotar.html|list]] of 禅 words, which I find useful to discover some less common 御名

I like to use seasonally tinted 御銘 for 濃茶, but here are some that are "pure" in that sense and that I like to use:
   * {{ruby|無事|ぶじ}}, suggested by AS19. Always works, similarly to 無一物。
  * For KM23, I used {{ruby|疑団|ぎだん}}, which is the doubt that pushes the monks to continue their study.
  * In Hurtebise 22, I used 無感情（むかんじょ）. MD really liked it. I think it's great whenever the seasons are strongly felt.
  * Also in Hurtebise 22, I came up with  {{ruby|一炷|いっしゅ}}, 1 incense length (because the 坐禅's time felt very long).
   * {{ruby|再会|さいかい}}, meeting again, which Fujiyo used in IV 23 when we practised together.
   * {{ruby|慈眼|じげん}}, the merciful eye of Buddha, which IR used in XI 24
   * [[百事如意|如意]] (にょい), the ceremonial backscatcher carried by Buddhist monks.

====Spring====

===April===
   * 雲水（うんすい）I used in April, when we were using the 旅箪笥. It describes the monks that are traveling, so I thought it was fitting.

   * the flower petals forming a boat on the water surface (花筏, はないかだ)
   * リスの尻尾（りすのしっぽ), the tail of a squirrel (which I wanted to use with HY 25).
   * 白嵐 (KM suggested that //pink// might be better, but we didn't find a poetic colour word) from the poem: 

> みよし野の　高嶺の桜　散りにけり
> 嵐もしろき　春のあけぼの
> The cherry blossoms on Yoshino’s high peaks have fallen away;
> even the wind that scattered them looks white in the spring dawn.

   * 落椿 (which reminds me of the poem I used in Japanese class: 落としたか　落ちたか　路の椿かな)
   * I have these 乾山 plates, on which the April one references 百人一首 № 2. From this, {{ruby|白妙|しろたえ}}, for example, would make a good, simple 御銘. There's also a sweet where a もち is simply wrapped in a green bamboo leaf by that name.

====Summer====
   * 神の声（かみのこえ）, heard it used during summer when there was thunder, which was quite dramatic.
   * I'd like to use 森林欲（しんりんよく）, forest bathing, at some point. Not sure if it's good, but it sounds like a good one to me.


===May===
   * I used {{ruby|勝虫|かちむし}} for 薄茶, and correspondliny {{ruby|不転心|ふてんしん}} for 濃茶. The latter is the mind that knows no return once he steps on the path of enlightenment. It's more commonly known as {{ruby|不退|ふたい}}, but I can remember the former more easily.

===June===
   * 空蝉（うつせみ）: The name is a pun in several ways: 
         * First, in itself, the //shell of the locust// is quite a poetic symbol. We need to leave our former selves behind to grow. 
         * But it is also the name of a character in the Tale of Genji; a lady that is not necessarily beautiful, but impressed Prince Genji with her stout behaviour and good taste.
         * Lastly, however, the word 空蝉 itself is interesting. It usually means //a living being// in general, instead of the locust shell. This is because the characters used to write this word were added ex-post for their sounds rather than their meaning; and with time, the word also got the meaning of //hollow locust//
         * With circadas being a strong summer motif, this name might be most suitable in summer; but with the more philosophical interpretation of its name, it also lends itself to all-year use for thick tea.
   * 網代笠 (あじろがさ）: The thick wickerwork hats monks wear on their pilgrimages to protect them from the rain. Suitable for the rainy season, but also with Zen undertones.
   * I like {{ruby|不染|ふぜん}} in 2026 for [[kinin|貴人]]. It like the lotus that comes out without pollution through the mud.
   * {{ruby|白的的|はくてきてき}}, which TGS used in 2026. It's the purest white and clarity of mind.
   * During one お稽古 after having discussed the sound a 楽茶碗 should make with a local potter, I wanted to use 銀鈴 (the silver bell). KM26 misunderstood it to mean silver mountain range (銀嶺), but that one is more often used in winter. She then suggested to use {{ruby|雲の峰|くも　の　みね}} from 「雲の峰いくつ崩れて月の山 芭蕉」(Cloud peaks breaking・The moon over the mountain)

===July===
   * During Hurtebise 22, I used a Genji chapter ([[poems|はなちろさと]]), because it was raining heavily, and the chapter describes how Genji retires with some old ladies to bask in the days of yore.
   * For 七夕, there's heaps, but {{ruby|星の涙|ほし　の　なみだ}} certainly has some drama 🥲
   * I used 無言橋 for my [[:restricted/6_vii_25|茶事]], which I think fits with 七夕.
   * KMa used {{ruby|解夏|げげ}}, which is what they call the end of a 4-month Zen retreat that finishes on 15 VII.
   * I used {{ruby緑陰|りょくいん}} when I did 葉蓋. It's the green that covers you in a forest walk.
   * AS26 thought it was a nice idea to use [[motifs|蚊遣豚]] for when we practised 茶箱 (it adds to the feeling of being outside).

====Autumn====
   * 奥山 or 鹿の声 from the 百人一首 5: 奥山に・紅葉　踏み分け・鳴く　鹿の・声　聞く　時ぞ・秋は　悲しき.

====Winter====
   * I used 幽石（ゆうせき）for a 茶碗 and 清池（せいち）for a 茶杓 in November in お稽古. It felt a bit early, but I think it's quite nice.

===December===
   *  無事: MC said it's a good one to use at the end of the year, because then people are without having things to do.
