====裂地====

The distinctions may be a bit arbitrary, but for this page, I divide the 裂地 into:
   * 緞子, which are subdued, with coloured threads
   * 金蘭, which are more garish, with actual gold threads
   * 間道, which are striped

For now, all fabrics listed here are {{ruby|名物裂|めいぶつぎれ}} by some account or another. There are other patterns, of course, and some I list under [[motifs]] if they also occur on other 道具.

===緞子===

====古帛紗====
   * When you receive tea on a 古帛紗, it stays on the 古帛紗 (like in 茶箱 or in 茶碗飾)
   * When you receive standart non-楽 濃茶 with the 古帛紗 on the side, you get both, put 古帛紗 to the right. You can say 「{{ruby|拝借|はいしゃく}}いたします」. 茶碗 in the middle, 総礼, put 茶碗 in your centre, pick up 古帛紗, then add 茶碗 onto it. Clean on the 古帛紗 (except for the last guest, who separates it again for cleaning and returns them side by side.

====帛紗====
   * The 帛紗, I think, represents the //heart of hospitality//. Guests and host carry it, but the host puts it out to show that they are now in the role. At the end of the 茶事, you can opt to do 総荘.
   * **Makers**:
         * Of course, you get them from 土田友湖 (about 200 CHF a pop)
         * If you're a normal person, from 北村徳齋 (you need to make a reservation to go there). They have lots of different colours, and also quite a lot of designs (which I find usually a bit tacky).
         * 染司よしおか is a store in 京都 that uses only natural pigments to colour their 帛紗. They are almost as expensive as 友湖, so I'm not sure if it's worth it, but she seems to be famous also for her study of colour.
