Vita
- Born 1578, son of おかめ and 少庵（しょうあん）. 少庵 was adopted into the 千 family, being the son of 利休's 2nd wife and a Sakai merchant.
- Since 道安（どうあん）, 利休's first son, didn't have any children yet, he didn't really get along with 少庵, his step-brother; especially not after he and おかめ had 宗旦.
- 1581: Because of that, 利休 moved 少庵 to 京都; with 道安 remaining in Sakai. In 京都, he built 不審庵（ふしんあん）, the hut of uncertainty.
- 1589 宗旦 starts Zen training at 大徳寺
- 1591 利休 ordered to commit suicide, 京都 property confiscated, then returned a few years later.
