Vita
Born 1578, son of おかめ and 少庵(しょうあん).
少庵 was adopted into the 千 family, being the son of
利休's 2nd wife and a Sakai merchant.
Since 道安(どうあん),
利休's first son, didn't have any children yet, he didn't really get along with
少庵, his step-brother; especially not after he and おかめ had
宗旦.
1581: Because of that,
利休 moved
少庵 to
京都; with 道安 remaining in Sakai. In
京都, he built 不審庵(ふしんあん), the hut of uncertainty.
1589
宗旦 starts Zen training at 大徳寺
1591
利休 ordered to commit suicide,
京都 property confiscated, then returned a few years later.
