For 棗, the lid goes to L knee, even when it's used for 濃茶; for other 薄器 it's in the middle.

Used when a 棗 was used for 濃茶. With Hiromi VII 23 we used one called つる次, which has a handle. It's fun to use, the 茶杓 goes through the handle, and for さばき you first clean the front side, then you turn it CW 90°, clean the back side (both straight); and for 拝見 then also remove the lid and clean the rim (round).

The 手桶 that I have, KMR and I figured out the following way: First 捌き is like the 四滴: First clean the front, turn 90° CW, clean back side (which is now to the R), turn back. (We also experimented with putting it back directly, which somewhat works.) For scooping the tea, you turn it CCW by 90°, then flip the lid of the front (now to the R) and put it on the other side of the handle. For presenting it during 拝見 and during 拝見 itself, also rest the front lid on the back side.

If the 棗 lid has something on the inside, when cleaning before 拝見, make sure it is aligned properly!
