裂地(きれじ)

The distinctions may be a bit arbitrary, but for this page, I divide the 裂地 into:

For now, all fabrics listed here are 名物裂(めいぶつぎれ)by some account or another. There are other patterns, of course, and some I list under symbols if they also occur on other 道具.

While I try to find examples from my own collection or those of fellow 茶人, some come from verdure and 37gi.

緞子

藤種(ふじたね) Plums on geometrical pattern fujitane.jpeg Used for a cute ぶんりん named 利休丸壺(利休まるつぼ). Originally blue and brown.
紹鴎(じょうおう) Dragon with arabesque muratajoo.jpeg Adds a small dot to Shuko
珠光(じゅこう) Dragon with arabesque muratajoo.jpeg
織部 Plums on waves oribedonsu.jpeg Used for the 大名物 named 松屋肩衝(まつやかたつき), which is a cute round one. In my collection, it's the 仕覆 for a cute practise 茶入.
下妻(しもずま) Birds with feathers simodu.jpg I have a picture of a 大海茶入 with this 仕覆, but I forgot from where.
定家(ていか) Plums on arabesque teika.jpeg Named after the maker in 京都. Christoph gifted me a 古帛紗 like this in Hurtebise 23; it has some relation to the courtesan 吉野
