Ganpu 2015 Red Star

General

  • Made with blended aged ripe puer and a fresh 2015 Xinhui mandarin. The tea is older than the peel.
  • Bought from white2tea in III18.
  • I find this a very decent way to drink shu puer, it's refreshing and warming, but doesn't sedate. Would be interesting to try a ganpu with sheng puer.

Western Tasting (9III18)

The dry mandarin smells super cool! Mandarin and old wood! Wet leaves smell rotten, fishy. Not very nice. Some sanxia wood, some overcooked mandarin. Empty cup a bit sweet, pointless. Nose is quite subtle. Aroma not too complex, shu puer meatiness, subtle, refreshing finish. As it cools, nose becomes clearer to identify, taste becomes denser. Surprisingly not bitter, but not too complex, either.

Gong Fu (9III18) (ceramic gaiwan)

Mandarin becomes stronger with more brews. Very sippable, light.
