  • There's hardly any mention of this in the CQs, so it's hard for me to say much about the significance etc. However, it's a great exercise to keep a fresh mind, and regain the 初心. In fact, I think as soon as the basic 小楢い are mastered, it makes sense to throw this into the rotation so you gain much clarity what movements are about the guest and thus change in the new setting, and which have to do with yourself.
  • Generally, the 帛紗 is carried away from the guest, and so for men it is tucked in like for the women so it can be easily given to R for the folding.
  • In 初炭, the feather is picked up with L, and then taken over with R. Also, when the incense is laid, the 火箸 are picked up with an underhand grip with R. Apart from that, the coal in the 炭斗 is laid inverted, and so it is laid in the 風呂. I presume the paper for the is placed into 着物 with the fold on the right side, because Ulrich once said the fold always points in the direction in which the is moved at the end.
  • The placement of 棗 and 茶入 are different, and the medium rinsing of the bowl is done with R. The 建水 is carried out with R, hiding it practically behind the 着物 sleeve.

台子

  • 台子点前, or more specifically, 点前 with full display, are not done in 逆勝手
