ホモテナシ

This is mostly from Menglins blog (here and there): 吉野大夫 (よしの だゆ)was an Edo-period Geisha of supreme elegance in 京都. She fell in love with 灰屋绍益(じょえき はいや), and while they first fell into disgrace because of that, they became respected for their bravery and endurance. 吉野 dies, and じょえき is full of grief, drinking his wive's ashes in sake.

都をば 
花なき里に 
なしにけり 
吉野を死出の 
山にうつして

Menglin translates:

Mit Deinem Tod brachtest Du alles weg, Yoshino.
Auch die Kirschblüte, die nun wohl nur im Himmel blühen werden.
