Issoan Tea also explains that there are 7 grasses of autumn (秋の七草, あき の なな くさ), often mentioned in Japanese poetry:

  • なでしこ (Dianthus)
  • おみなえし (Baldrian)
  • ふじばかま (Wasserdost, hemp agrimony; Eupatorium fortunei)
  • あさがお (modern Japanese: ききょ, Prunkwinde, bellflower; Platycodon grandiflorum)
