Embrace Simplicity 2015

  • It's a Anhua Dark Tea (安化黑茶) from a brick, from Gaoma'erxi in Hunan. They are smoked over pine, then pile-fermented. (link)

Western Tasting (29 VIII 18)

  • Slightly smoky, acquatic-maritime quality to wet leaves. Woodfire smoke and maple sweetness in empty cup. Nose slightly stew-y and warm smoke, wine cellar; also some raisin sweetness. Cup is slightly smoky, quite thin and a little bit of acidity / plastic taste. (Most possibly from the packaging.) Unfortunately, this is quite a plain, slightly smoky tea.
