ホモテナシ

Mount 吉野 is famous for its 1000 cherry trees.

The courtesan 吉野 had a round window in her room, usually depicted with some sliding doors that allow only a strip to be seen of the outside.

So these things together give us this treat!

I used 桜あん, obviously, as 中餡, then plain 練り切り dough to wrap around it. Using a 黒文字, make the strip of the outside that can be seen. Make the lattice pattern with a very thin toothpick (making sure they are wider than tall). Finally, add some very fine green and pink coloured 金団-like threads.

Oolong, pisco and Bénédictine are good pairings for the 桜あん.
